| EARTH CHILD 1971 |
Founded in 1971 by guitarists Tony Pulliam and Melvin Perry and Drummer Larry Ashe, the Black Arrangements,
adding Rick Poole on Bass, Alan Dale Taylor on Guitar and Jimmy 'Hook' Hooker on vocals, and changing their name to Earth
Child in 1972, was not the typical black band for the era. Rare Earth, Led Zephlin, Jimi Hendrix as well as the Barkays, Sly
& the Family Stone, Jackson 5, Mandril......just an example of the diverse choice of covers Earth Child chose to interpret.
A polished 'jam band', delivering a high energy rendition of a familiar cover and morphing into a whole new, unique groove....................................
